Kristie currently serves as the Director of Research and Science at the Energy and Geoscience Institute (EGI) at the University of Utah, where she is the managing PI of FORGE, the DOE's flagship EGS field laboratory. Prior to EGI, she spent over a decade at ConocoPhillips leading subsurface technology development across geosciences, reservoir engineering, and water management. She began her career at the EGI researching scale mitigation, proppant stability, and fluid chemistry specifically in geothermal systems before moving into O&G. Her arc from geothermal researcher to deep O&G subsurface expertise and back to leading the country's most important applied EGS program, gives Kristie a full cycle technical perspective that will be critical to the engineering problems Birch is solving.
